*Gayle will be speaking about her late husband’s novel, "Beyond the Phantom Battle: Mystery at Loch Ashie." This novel tells the story of twin brothers from Edinburgh who travel to Loch Ashie to investigate, after reading about sightings of a phantom battle between the ancient Highlanders and the Vikings.

Speaker: Manitoba Author, Andrew Dutfield, will discuss his mystery novel, “Death at the Point,” which was inspired by Dutfield’s interest in immigrant history and the relative isolation of Hecla Island and its Icelandic settlers.

Jerome who shared his family research with her and gave her permission to use research on his ancestors for her dissertation: "The Crucible: Pembina and the Origins of the Red River Valley Metis"
